Mica Tapes

Mica Tapes

Mica tapes are manufactured from mica paper (Muscovite, Phlogopite, Calcined, or Synthetic) reinforced with backings of glass cloth, polyester film, or polyimide film depending on the application. These tapes are widely used as dielectric barriers in motors, transformers, generators, and as fire-resistant barriers in wires and cables. All tapes are impregnated with high-temperature silicone resin for improved performance.

The choice of backing depends on the application — for example, polyimide backing tapes are preferred for high-temperature environments. Proper winding during application is crucial to achieve maximum efficiency.
